A good leash is one of those dog essentials you reach for every single day. Whether you're heading around the neighborhood, hitting the trail, traveling with your dog or simply taking a quick walk, you want a leash that's comfortable to use, durable and fits the way you and your dog like to adventure.

At Dog Tahoe, we offer three different styles of rope leashes: our Multi-Use Rope Leash, Straight Rope Leash and Short Rope Leash. Each has its own advantages, so finding the right one really comes down to how you walk with your dog.

Multi-Use Rope Leash: One Leash, 7 Different Ways

If you like versatility, this is the leash for you.

Our 7-in-1 Multi-Use Rope Leash can be adjusted several different ways depending on what you're doing with your dog. Custom-made adjustable clips allow you to change the configuration on the fly, making it especially convenient for walks, travel and outdoor adventures.

You can use it as:

  1. Regular leash – Use it at its full length like a traditional straight leash.

  2. Temporary collar – Loop it around your dog's neck when a collar isn't available.

  3. Half-length leash – Shorten it when you want your dog walking closer to you.

  4. Hands-free waist leash – Wrap it around your waist for a hands-free walk.

  5. Two-dog leash – Use it to walk two dogs at the same time.

  6. Temporary tether – Hitch one end to a sturdy object when appropriate.

  7. Belt clip – Clip it to your belt when you need your hands free for small tasks.

There's also an easy place to attach your poop bag holder or keys.

The Multi-Use Rope Leash is made with flexible 3/8-inch double braid nylon rope with approximately 4,000 pounds of tensile strength, custom adjustable clips and two swivel snap hooks. It is available in 6-, 8- and 10-foot lengths.

Best for: Dog owners who want maximum versatility from one leash, especially for walking, hiking, travel and everyday adventures.

Straight Rope Leash: Simple, Classic and Adventure-Ready

Sometimes you just want a great leash.

Our Straight Rope Leash is the classic choice for everyday walks and outdoor adventures. It has a traditional leash design with a comfortable rope feel and a swivel snap hook that attaches to your dog's collar or harness.

One of the biggest advantages is choosing the length that works best for you and your dog. The Straight Rope Leash is available in 6-, 8-, 10- and 12-foot lengths, giving you options depending on how much freedom you like to give your pup.

It also includes a handy clasp where you can attach a poop bag holder or your keys.

Our 3/8-inch version is made from flexible double braid nylon rope with approximately 4,000 pounds of tensile strength. A 1/2-inch polyester rope option is also available with a stiffer feel and approximately 7,400 pounds of tensile strength.

Best for: Everyday dog walks, longer walks, trails and anyone who prefers the simplicity of a traditional straight leash.

Short Rope Leash: Keep Your Dog Close

There are times when you simply don't need six or ten feet of leash.

Our Short Rope Leash is approximately 18 inches long, giving you a simple way to keep your dog close. It's a great addition to your collection when you want less leash between you and your pup.

Like our Straight Rope Leash, it includes a clasp for attaching your poop bag holder or keys and is available in both flexible 3/8-inch double braid nylon rope and a stiffer 1/2-inch polyester rope option.

Best for: Situations where you prefer your dog walking right beside you and don't need the additional length of a standard leash.

Which Dog Tahoe Rope Leash Should You Choose?

It really depends on how you and your dog spend your time together.

If you want one leash that can do a little bit of everything, go with the Multi-Use Rope Leash.

If you want a traditional leash for everyday walks and adventures, the Straight Rope Leash is probably your style.

If you prefer to keep your dog close with very little extra leash, choose the Short Rope Leash.

And there's no rule saying you have to choose just one. Different adventures call for different gear. You may prefer a longer Straight Rope Leash for exploring trails, the Multi-Use for travel and outings, and the Short Rope Leash when you want your dog right by your side.

Made for Dogs That Go Places

Dog Tahoe is all about dogs that are part of the adventure—whether that adventure is a hike through the woods, a weekend road trip, a walk through town or simply getting outside together.

Your dog's leash goes along for almost all of it.

Choose the style and length that work for you, clip on your pup and go find your next adventure together.
